If you have never been to west campus to tour the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, this is your chance! The BPCRC is one of only three polar and alpine glacier research centers in the U.S., and it houses over 7km of ice cores from across the globe, including the one and only ice core from the glacier on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Registration is open to the first 40 students, so sign up now! Transportation will be provided.
5:00-5:30 Weather Balloon Launch @ The Oval
We will be launching the famous red and gray weather balloons on the Oval in front of Derby Hall promptly at 5pm. Come check it out!

Are you unsure what career you want to pursue with your Atmospheric Sciences or Climatic Studies degree? Attend the Careers in Atmospheric Sciences Panel to hear from a panel of meteorologists working in applied research, academics, and the private sector and to learn what it takes to be successful in the field of meteorology. Confirmed panelists include Dr. Jay Hobgood, professor in the Atmospheric Sciences program, Dr. Aaron Wilson, researcher at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, and Brian Haines, meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, OH.
