It gives me great pleasure to announce that Jackie Beck is a recipient of the 2022-23 Graduate Association Leadership Award. This is a highly competitive award that recognizes ‘exceptional leadership’ by a graduate student while pursuing a degree at Ohio State. The award celebrates a candidate’s communication and listening skills, motivation, organization, innovation, and industry.

Jackie’s work in the department is significant. In addition to pursuing her studies, Jackie has dedicated time as the student rep to Grad Studies, with GGO (as Treasurer, and as President), with the Scarlet and Gray Campus Weather Forecasting Team, and building the Atmospheric Sciences Alumni Association. She has also taken on a leadership role in our undergraduate curriculum. We are very lucky to have Jackie in our community.
